Providing complete precision surface fabrication capability, ZYGO uses the latest and most sophisticated CNC equipment together with conventional production processes. Operations include: machining, shaping, generating, grinding, and edging to produce flats, windows, mirrors, spheres, lenses, corner cubes, prisms, and many other shapes. Regardless of their size or shape, all components have extremely precise geometries and surface flatness. Surfaces can be better than λ/50-wave (12 nm), with less than one angstrom rms surface roughness. Angle tolerances can be held to 0.1 arc second. ZYGO's Advanced Thin Films coating division produces metallic and high-efficiency dielectric coatings for transmissive or reflective applications, in the ultraviolet, visible, and infrared regions of the spectrum, from 200 nm to 2000 nm. We also apply polarization, beamsplitter, and anti-reflective coatings. To ensure quality for our customers, ZYGO maintains complete control over every facet of manufacturing - from grinding and polishing, to coating and assembly. At each stage of production, skilled opticians meticulously test and verify the components using sophisticated measuring instruments, most of which are designed and manufactured by ZYGO.
